Sponsored Sleep-Out

February 25th 2011

Supporters and members of the Home4U team will be taking part in a SLEEP-OUT on Thursday April 26th, 2012 in Cardiff City Centre as part of the Still Human Still Here Campaign.

All money raised by the sleep-out will go towards the Home4U Project. Please help by sponsoring us.

The purpose of the sleep-out is to raise awareness of the Government policy which makes refused asylum seekers destitute, a policy that is both unjust and ineffective.

We will use sponsorship of the sleep-out to raise funds for Home4U, a project that provides accommodation and subsistence money for destitute refused asylum seekers.

Asylum seekers who are made destitute in Cardiff are not entitled to housing benefits and so do not even have the right to a bed in a night shelter. They receive absolutely nothing from the government.

The criteria for asylum are strict and narrow, and some asylum seekers who fail to qualify are nevertheless terrified to return to their countries. Others who cannot be returned yet are also left without any support, as well as some who fall out of the system because of bureaucratic errors.

Please show your support by Sponsoring the Home4U team sleep-out
